Dance Arts Centre Company Tuition and Fees
2009-10 Company Tuition:
Monthly tuition fee for required weekly classes:
- Mini Company: $190 per month
- Junior Company: $220 per month
- Teen Company: $225 per month
- Senior Company: $230 per month
Class tuition is due on the first day of each month, September through June. August is charged a partial rate, varying each year depending upon the starting date of classes in August.
Optional Classes:
A dancer may take extra weekly classes by "dancing up" to the next company level at no additional change. These classes are in addition to their assigned weekly classes for their own company level. Example: a Junior Company member may take the Teen Company Tap class in addition to their regular weekly Junior Company Tap class.
Competition Entry Fees:
Competition Group entry fees are charged per dancer, and are paid out of your escrow account. Entry fees vary by competition, but average approximately $30 per dancer per group.
Choreography Fees:
Each student pays a choreography fee to their DAC choreographer (on-staff or guest choreographer) before the start of rehearsals for the number being set. Fees are determined by the choreographer. The average choreography fee for a DAC choreographer setting a group number is $100 per dance. Payment is made directly to the choreographer before the student begins learning the dance, and is not part of your Escrow Account.
If a guest choreographer is brought in to set a number, a choreography fee will apply (determined by the choreographer), and will be due before choreography begins.
Escrow Account:
We at Dance Arts Centre believe in full disclosure of all costs and fees associated with being a member of DACPAC. Therefore, to help you manage the payments needed for competition and workshop entry fees, bootcamp, and other miscellaneous costs, we will individually calculate your fees based upon the number of groups your dancer participates in, provide this figure to you, and allow you to pay the amount in monthly installments over a 9-month period. This payment is your "Escrow Account" and will be due on the 15th of each month, October through June.
At the beginning of the season, you will receive a payment book showing the breakdown of all your financial obligations for monthly tuition and escrow fees.
Costumes:
Costumes fees are charged per-costume, and are paid in several installments over the year. Costume prices vary based upon the complexity of the costume and labor/materials involved. Average cost is $175-$200 per costume. Costumes are yours to keep.

Example 1: Sample Fees for 1 dancer in Teen Company participating in 4 Group numbers: 1 Production, 2 Large Groups and 1 Small Group. Note: these fees are for example only. Your actual fees will be discussed with you by the staff at the beginning of the season.
