Dance Arts Centre ~ Notes from the Directors

Time To Shine In 2009!

We can hardly believe that Dance Arts Centre will be celebrating it's 10th year this August!

Our biggest news this year is the opening of our brand new facility in Suwanee. We are sad to be leaving our old home in Duluth, but only the name of the city is changing as we are only 4 miles north of our current location. So much has happened in the past 10 years to make Dance Arts Centre (DAC) a one-of-a-kind studio.

First and foremost, DAC is a family. Every time we walk into the studio, we feel that we are home. The studio is an amazing place to work, and the interaction between all of the kids and families is truly amazing. You can honestly feel the positive atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. We could not be more proud of our students and staff.

Our competition team, Dance Arts Centre's Performing Arts Company (DACPAC), has risen to become a nationally recognized group, not only for their amazing talents and accomplishments, but also for their attitudes and sportsmanship at both regional and national competitions. We are so well recognized that we have been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Dance Competitions, one of only 10 studio directors selected nationwide. We are truly honored to have been chosen to be part of this board.

We are also so very proud of all of our students. So many have gone on to study dance at many prestigious colleges nationwide, including UNLV, Oklahoma City University, University of Oklahoma, University of Arizona, and Florida State Universtiy. Others have gone straight into the entertainment industry, filming movies with Miley Cyrus, appearing in videos for David Archuleta and dancing with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Walt Disney World. We have had the opportunity to bring in so many amazing guest teachers that work in all fields of the dance industry to share their knowledge with our students.

Blowing our own horn? Absolutely! The whole staff and every single student have worked so hard to make Dance Arts Centre a step above the rest.

We are so excited to be giving back to them with this amazing new space that we will soon be moving into. We will have 4 studios, all with raised flooring, and state-of-the-art sound and video equipment. We will continue to offer guest teachers throughout the year, amazing Summer Camps for all ages, and most importantly a positive and nurturing environment for your child’s dance education.

The new studio will be opening the first of February. We invite you all to come and see what everyone is talking about!
