(Monique) Nicole George started her dance training 23 years ago. At the age of 7 she focused more seriously on her dance training in various styles including but not limited to ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, and hip hop. While training, Nicole also competed at the regional and national levels earning various scholarships along the way. From 2003-2005, she trained under Pavel Rotaru of the Rotaru School of Russian Ballet, and took part in their production of The Nutcracker at the Rialto. During her high school career, Nicole delved into choreographing and teaching as a part of her curriculum. In 2006, Nicole’s choreography was showcased at National High School Dance Festival in Miami along with other high schools from all over the U.S. In 2007, Nicole competed in Dance Arts Centre’s Performing Arts Company, and set off for college in 2008.
While in college, Nicole had the honor of participating in the Disney College Program as a character/ parade performer. Throughout her time at Disney, she participated in the televised “Mickey’s Once upon a Christmastime” parade in Magic Kingdom. She also had the opportunity to perform in “Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle” Parade in Animal Kingdom. Nicole received her degree in Print Journalism from Georgia State University with a minor in English in 2013. Apart from being a former student and current teacher/ choreographer at Dance Arts Centre, Nicole is now a freelance writer for Dance Informa Magazine.
